Import & Export Your Data
Your data belongs to you. Keepsake makes it easy to import your existing contacts via vCard and export everything whenever you need. No lock-in, no hidden barriers — just seamless data portability.
Your Data, Your Choice
Import Your Contacts
Export your contacts as a vCard file
First, export your contacts from your current app as a .vcf file. See the section below for step-by-step instructions for each platform.
Open the User Menu
In Keepsake, click on the User Menu — it shows your name. On desktop, it's at the bottom left. On mobile, tap the menu icon at the top right.
Select "Import a vCard"
Click "Import a vCard". A file picker opens — select your .vcf file.
Choose your .vcf file
Browse and select the vCard file you exported. Keepsake will read all the contacts in the file.
Done!
Your contacts are imported instantly into Keepsake with their names, phone numbers, emails, and other available information.
Tip
Don't feel pressured to import everything at once. Many users prefer to start fresh and build their Keepsake naturally — adding contacts as they interact with them.
How to Export Your Contacts as vCard
Export from Mac (Apple Contacts)
Open the Contacts app
Launch the Contacts app on your Mac.
Select your contacts
Select the contacts you want to export. Use ⌘A to select all, or hold ⌘ to select specific contacts.
Export as vCard
Right-click on one of the selected contacts and choose Export vCard… (or go to File → Export → Export vCard…). Choose where to save the .vcf file. You'll get a single file containing all your selected contacts.
Tip
You can also drag and drop contacts directly from the Contacts app to your Desktop — this creates a .vcf file automatically.
Export from iPhone / iPad
Export from Android (Google Contacts)
Open Google Contacts
Open the Google Contacts app on your Android phone, or go to contacts.google.com on a computer.
Select contacts
Tap the three-line menu ☰ → Select all, or pick specific contacts by long-pressing and tapping each one.
Export
Tap the three-dot menu ⋮ → Export. Choose vCard (.vcf) as the format. The file will be saved to your device or Downloads folder.
Tip
On the web at contacts.google.com, go to the sidebar → Export → choose vCard (for iOS Contacts) — this works perfectly for Keepsake too.
Export from Windows (Outlook / People)
Export from Google Contacts (Web)
Go to Google Contacts
Open contacts.google.com and sign in to your Google account.
Select contacts to export
In the left sidebar, click Export. Choose All contacts or select specific contacts first.
Choose vCard format
Select vCard (for iOS Contacts) — this creates a standard .vcf file that works perfectly with Keepsake.
Download
Click Export. The .vcf file downloads to your computer, ready to import into Keepsake.
Export Your Data
Open User Menu → My Account
Click on the User Menu (your name, bottom left on desktop — or top right on mobile), then select My Account.
Download all your data
Click Download my data to get a complete export of everything in your account: contacts, notes, tasks, entries — all of it. The file will download to your device.
Or delete your account
If you wish to leave, you can also delete your account from this same page. This permanently removes all your data. We recommend downloading your data first, just in case.
Tip
We recommend downloading your data regularly as a backup. Your data is safe with us, but it's always good to have your own copy. Need to cancel your subscription instead? That's in User Menu → Account → Subscription.
